I'm a female named 'MARSHALL' and as one might guess, it's a FAMILY name. You know how we Southerners are about carrying on those 'FAMILY' names! I love 'Designing Women' and NEVER tire of watching the re-runs! Being of 'old Southern heritage' I can often relate to these beautiful SOUTHERN belles!

Today I watched the episode from season two titled, Killing All the Right People. It was a very moving episode. I especially appreaciated the way Julia told that woman off when she said that Aids was gods punishment on gays. It's quoted in the favorite quotes section of this site and I think it's awesome.

I just think Dixie Carter is an exellent actress! Designing Women is the best comedy on TV. I always wondered if Dixie is anything like Julia? My favorite Epsoide is The Fashion show, where Julia and Mary Jo are fighting and get stuck together as they are going down the runway. I laughed so hard. And their clothes rip. I will hope for a reunion show.

This show has been my favourite since I came to the USA.
Barely speaking English in the beginning, I turned out to be a little of all the characters portrayed in the show............
Julia's songs should be on CD!!!

I love designing women! My favorite episode is 'Miss Trial' when Julia gets heated with Charlene about turning her in to the court. (Quote) Thank you so much for turning me in , now the jury is sequestered and I'an stuck in Motel Hell. Then why you find some overdue library books in the upstairs den! Then you can get your merit badge you big ol'e donkey girl scout! If I miss my dinner with President and Rosalind Carter, im going to hunt you down like a dog! I mean you running through the woods with bloodhounds ripping your clothes off. And don't forget Charlene, I have your address! You'd be wise to ask yourself, do I know where my baby is?! After that, Suzanne says, I think you should get some black wigs on and get the hell out of town!

I spent my thirty-something years engrossed in absolutely every episode-and not one dissapointed me. Why? Simply put, Designing women was more than an endearing show; It was comfort food, something that you never get tired of and that makes you feel good all over from the inside out. LOVE THEM ALL!

I love Designg Women and the DW Tribute. I have taped every episode of DW and enjoy them over and over again. I would watch the re-runs on TV if it ever returned. I wish they would bring back the show and shoot new episodes. They are sadly missed. I never missed an episode when it was on TV. But I wish there would be new 'featured episodes' as well as new 'Belled' entries more frequently. Sorry, just hinting! I check the DW tribute frequently to see if there any changes in the above. I love all the new additions to the site too! Keep it up. It is awesome!

Delta Burke, and Jean Smart! You gals know how to connect with your fans. Suzzane Sugarbaker, she'll never know how she helped me heal while I watched the episode where she was made fun of and dixie confronted the gal and said, 'that was the night....the lights...went out in Georgia!' And Charlene, she brought the good out of anyone. I admired her. She made me laugh, she made cry...but I heard in real life she had died, and I like to a went nuts. Julia, she knew how to sock em. I use to wonder how she could come up with those lines. Until I grew up. ahah
And the little crazy woman...'black man, black man, where is my black man' When she wore the christmas tree skirt, on my god, she was so dog on funny!
I'm sure you will never read my post here, but in case you do, YOU WILL ALL HAVE A FAN IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS. I WATCH YOU EVERY EVENING ON LIFETIME.
I' GOING TO SEE Sweet home Alabama next week to see Jean Smart. thanks for allowing me to post. Danny

This was HANDS DOWN, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, the BEST show ever on television with the original cast. It fizzled when that cast changed. The original cast episodes to this day still hold my interest. What a waste of talent when this show 'bit the dust.'

Why was this show ever discontinued? This is one of the best shows that has been on air in a long time, and eventhough I am only 19, I still know that. We need more people like Dixie Carter on T.V. Congrats., producers, on a wonderful show.
